The world is truly Obama mad

I really don’t know where to begin with this one. President Obama was just awarded this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.

The stunning choice made Obama the third sitting U.S. president to win the Nobel Peace Prize and shocked Nobel observers because Obama took office less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline. Obama’s name had been mentioned in speculation before the award but many Nobel watchers believed it was too early to award the president.

As an American I want to be proud, and certainly not be disrespectful to my President, even I disagree with his politics and policies. With that said, how does President Obama win the Nobel Peace Prize based on his portfolio of work as the current President of the United States of America? Is this now a lifetime achievement award?

Shocking is the only way to describe this tomfoolery.

  1. Well Obama has been disappointing from the opposite perspective too. Probably too much in the pocket of Wall Street and other businesses so he’s too meek on things like health care.

Anyways, I’d agree it’s premature to give him the award. It seems more like an indication of how much the previous administration had alienated the rest of the world than anything else.

  2. I agree on your last point, but it is just ridiculous that he is given this award now. Let him be President for a while and see the results, then make a decision.
