The last of the original Dungeon Masters, Dave Arneson, passed away today just thirteen months after Gary Gygax (March 2008).
There are numerous guys my age that were very much influenced by the original box set of Dungeons & Dragons, the “red” and “blue” Basic and Expert sets, and of course Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. I still remember when I finally realized that the two sets of rules (D&D vs. AD&D) were in fact different, and no, you do not go from Basic to Expert, to Advanced. LOL
