This was the first time since <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ajc.com\/uga-sports-blog\/2010\/01\/08\/unranked-in-final-polls-for-first-time-since\/?cxntfid=blogs_uga_sports_blog\" onclick=\"__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'http:\/\/blogs.ajc.com\/uga-sports-blog\/2010\/01\/08\/unranked-in-final-polls-for-first-time-since\/?cxntfid=blogs_uga_sports_blog', '1996');\" target=\"_blank\">1996<\/a> that the Dawgs garnered no respect from the pundits.<\/p>\n<p>I am certainly not going to argue that the <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/ncf\/teams\/schedule?teamId=61\" onclick=\"__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'http:\/\/espn.go.com\/ncf\/teams\/schedule?teamId=61', '8-5');\" target=\"_blank\">8-5<\/a> Bulldogs had a great year, but they did lose to (at the time) #9 Oklahoma St, #4 LSU, and #1 Florida.  Of course the Dawgs also took it on the chin to Tennessee (Chick-fil-a Bowl losers) and Kentucky (Music City Bowl losers).  Victory highlights included South Carolina, Arkansas, Auburn, and #7 Georgia Tech \u2013 all Bowl teams.<\/p>\n<p>The bottom line is that a 5 loss team is not going to end the season ranked, but when you crunch the numbers, it\u2019s not all doom and gloom.
