{"id":923,"date":"2007-06-14T21:14:26","date_gmt":"2007-06-15T01:14:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/2007\/06\/14\/fired-up-the-ol-psp\/"},"modified":"2007-06-14T21:14:26","modified_gmt":"2007-06-15T01:14:26","slug":"fired-up-the-ol-psp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/2007\/06\/14\/fired-up-the-ol-psp\/","title":{"rendered":"Fired up the &#8216;ol PSP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This morning I had to go to the hospital to do some pre-registration crap for my upcoming surgery.\u00a0 I figured this would be a good opportunity to break out my PSP for the first time in \u2026 well a long time.\u00a0 I am not sure when I last turned on my PSP.<\/p>\n<p>I spent a decent amount of time with MLB 07 The Show, which reminded me of a couple of things.\u00a0 First, the PSP really is a great system, if you wanted a portable PS2 experience.\u00a0 Second, MLB 07 is really, really good.\u00a0 MLB 07 Perhaps one of the top three games on the system, right up there with Winning Eleven and Lumines (and maybe Pinball Hall of Fame, which is one of my all-time favorite games).<\/p>\n<p>For all the positives MLB 07 offers, I am only going to mention the negatives.\u00a0 Yes, I am in a bitchy mood because I am out of Sweet Water 420.\u00a0 What can you do?\u00a0 The load times suck, but that is pretty much the case with all PSP games.\u00a0 It is hard to get precision pitching placement because of the terrible analog nub controls (once again, this is a problem on my PSP games).\u00a0 The commentary sometimes gets a little off, or slow, or behind the play.\u00a0 Finally, it takes too long to finish a 9 inning game.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a PSP, and you are a baseball fan, and you can get past the negatives listed above, you owe it to yourself to pick up MLB 07 The Show.\u00a0 This is a solid baseball game.<\/p>\n<div class=\"addtoany_share_save_container addtoany_content_bottom\"><div class=\"a2a_kit a2a_kit_size_ addtoany_list a2a_target\" id=\"wpa2a_1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.addtoany.com\/share\" onclick=\"__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'https:\/\/www.addtoany.com\/share', '');\" class=\"a2a_dd addtoany_share_save\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/wp-content\/plugins\/add-to-any\/share_save_171_16.png\" width=\"171\" height=\"16\" alt=\"Share\"\/><\/a>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\nif(wpa2a)wpa2a.script_load();\n\/\/--><\/script>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning I had to go to the hospital to do some pre-registration crap for my upcoming surgery.\u00a0 I figured this would be a good opportunity to break out my PSP for the first time in \u2026 well a long time.\u00a0 I am not sure when I last turned on my PSP.
