{"id":891,"date":"2007-05-30T17:44:51","date_gmt":"2007-05-30T21:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/2007\/05\/30\/dell-to-the-rescue\/"},"modified":"2007-05-30T17:44:51","modified_gmt":"2007-05-30T21:44:51","slug":"dell-to-the-rescue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/2007\/05\/30\/dell-to-the-rescue\/","title":{"rendered":"Dell to the rescue?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few post down, a gentleman named Brad responded to my rant about Dell\u2019s customer support and the problems I am experiencing with my wife\u2019s Dell Inspiron 6000.\u00a0 It turns out that Brad is an \u201cOnline Community Outreach Liaison\u201d with Dell.<\/p>\n<p>A few days ago I sent Brad an email, but he never received it (I think it went to a generic email account).\u00a0 However, Brad showed some initiative and found my gmail account, contacted me, requesting that I email him some info if I still needed some help.\u00a0 A short while ago we spoke on the phone for a few minutes, and Brad setup a request to have onsite technical support replace the screen (maybe as soon as tomorrow or Friday).\u00a0 Apparently the laptop is under warranty until December 2007, which came as a nice surprise.\u00a0 I told Brad that I never order extended warranties; either Brad is doing me a great favor, or there was some type of deal at the time I ordered the laptop.<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to make sure that I gave credit where credit is due.\u00a0 While I am extremely frustrated with Dell\u2019s support getting my battery replaced (that was an adventure), and I am upset with the screen going belly up so soon, I am grateful for Brad\u2019s help.<\/p>\n<p>Dell is making a positive step forward if they are hiring folks like Brad to actively search blogs such as this one looking for customer complaints.\u00a0 It is one thing to look for complaints, but to actually contact customers is quality support.<\/p>\n<p>I will post another update in the next few days after the screen is replaced.<\/p>\n<div class=\"addtoany_share_save_container addtoany_content_bottom\"><div class=\"a2a_kit a2a_kit_size_ addtoany_list a2a_target\" id=\"wpa2a_1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.addtoany.com\/share\" onclick=\"__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'https:\/\/www.addtoany.com\/share', '');\" class=\"a2a_dd addtoany_share_save\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/wp-content\/plugins\/add-to-any\/share_save_171_16.png\" width=\"171\" height=\"16\" alt=\"Share\"\/><\/a>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\nif(wpa2a)wpa2a.script_load();\n\/\/--><\/script>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few post down, a gentleman named Brad responded to my rant about Dell\u2019s customer support and the problems I am experiencing with my wife\u2019s Dell Inspiron 6000.\u00a0 It turns out that Brad is an \u201cOnline Community Outreach Liaison\u201d with Dell.
