{"id":786,"date":"2007-02-02T20:07:34","date_gmt":"2007-02-03T00:07:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/2007\/02\/02\/i-have-decided\/"},"modified":"2007-02-02T20:07:34","modified_gmt":"2007-02-03T00:07:34","slug":"i-have-decided","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/2007\/02\/02\/i-have-decided\/","title":{"rendered":"I have decided &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For those of you keeping score at home, I have decided that Miller Lite is a much better beer than Budweiser Select.\u00a0 Yes, for those of us that buy cheap light beer, this sort of revelation is important.<\/p>\n<p>I am a fan of beer; good beer.\u00a0 So long time readers often wonder why I bother to drink cheap beer, typically of the \u2018ght\u2019 variety.\u00a0 For one thing, cheap is good.\u00a0 More money in my pocket is a good thing.\u00a0 Why would I not want to get a 30 pack of Miller Lite at Sam\u2019s Club for what amounts to $0.55 a beer?\u00a0 I can use the extra coin to buy more junk food or better yet, just not spend so much money on beer.\u00a0 Who am I kidding; the extra money goes towards all the wonderful junk food or even more cheap beer.<\/p>\n<p>I typically buy something good (say SweetWater 420 Pale Ale) to sprinkle in amongst the various cheap light beer in my cupboard.\u00a0 At the end of the day, I can drink more cheap beer, guilty free \u2013 cheap is good, and a light beer makes me feel like I am doing \u2018the right thing\u2019 while I am drinking beer.<\/p>\n<p>I am probably not making much sense, but that is excusable, at least in the mind of a sleep deprived dad.\u00a0 No I am not drunk (yet).\u00a0 Getting back on topic, the Budweiser Select seemed like a better deal at $0.48 a beer, but it just does not taste all that great.\u00a0 I am not even sure what is \u2018select\u2019 about this beer.\u00a0 This is possibly the worst cheap light beer that I have purchased in the last couple of years.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to cheap beer, Miller Lite is a better choice.\u00a0 I know Budweiser Select is competing against Michelob Ultra, but that is beside the point.\u00a0 We will discuss other cheap beers later.<\/p>\n<div class=\"addtoany_share_save_container addtoany_content_bottom\"><div class=\"a2a_kit a2a_kit_size_ addtoany_list a2a_target\" id=\"wpa2a_1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.addtoany.com\/share\" onclick=\"__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'https:\/\/www.addtoany.com\/share', '');\" class=\"a2a_dd addtoany_share_save\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/wp-content\/plugins\/add-to-any\/share_save_171_16.png\" width=\"171\" height=\"16\" alt=\"Share\"\/><\/a>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\nif(wpa2a)wpa2a.script_load();\n\/\/--><\/script>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For those of you keeping score at home, I have decided that Miller Lite is a much better beer than Budweiser Select.\u00a0 Yes, for those of us that buy cheap light beer, this sort of revelation is important.
