Seems like a long time ago.  Way back then, the only game in town was the Valdosta High football team \u2013 they were great.  And the football team?  Not so much, but I still spent plenty of time watching them play.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday Valdosta State overcame a 14 point first quarter deficit to capture their first NCAA Division II Championship, defeating Pitt State 36-31.<\/p>\n<p>Of note is Fabian Walker \u2013 the former high school prep star QB that never quite caught on at Florida State.  Walker had 200+ total yards in his last chance to impress NFL scouts.
