{"id":2900,"date":"2010-06-06T15:07:55","date_gmt":"2010-06-06T20:07:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/?p=2900"},"modified":"2010-06-06T15:07:55","modified_gmt":"2010-06-06T20:07:55","slug":"f1-in-texas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/2010\/06\/06\/f1-in-texas\/","title":{"rendered":"F1 in Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I really do not get the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.racer.com\/us-grand-prix-for-austin-texas-in-2012\/article\/170972\" onclick=\"__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'http:\/\/www.racer.com\/us-grand-prix-for-austin-texas-in-2012\/article\/170972', 'announcement');\" target=\"_blank\">announcement<\/a> earlier this week that F1 is returning to the U.S. in Austin, TX.  Nothing against Texas (I am a native Texan), or Austin (love the Longhorns), however I imagine that most F1 fans would have been happy with an F1 return in Indy.<\/p>\n<p>I guess it comes down to money \u2013 a 10 year deal at a F1 purpose built track has to be a big money deal.  At least the U.S. is returning to the racing calendar.  Can we get a U.S. based F1 team in time for 2012?
