As much as I enjoyed <em>MLB 07<\/em> and <em>MLB 08<\/em>, I was just not convinced that I got my money\u2019s worth.<\/p>\n<p>It is highly entertaining (in an ironic sort of way) reading the fanboy fervor over a <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.us.playstation.com\/2010\/01\/pre-order-mlb-10-the-show-and-get-free-classic-stadiums\/\" onclick=\"__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'http:\/\/blog.us.playstation.com\/2010\/01\/pre-order-mlb-10-the-show-and-get-free-classic-stadiums\/', 'preorder deal');\" target=\"_blank\">preorder deal<\/a> that includes instant access to DLC for several classic ballparks.  Why such a negative reaction?  Apparently <em>The Show<\/em> fanboys expected instant access to the classic stadiums based on some press release propaganda that indicates the stadiums are included in the game.<\/p>\n<p>The kicker is that while the stadiums are included, you actually have to unlock a whole heaping helping of trophies and stuff in order to actually \u201cearn\u201d the use of said stadiums.  Imagine that; an incentive based unlocking system.<\/p>\n<p>The developers realized that unlocking the stadiums may be an intricate task, involving many hours of gameplay, so they decided to offer up this \u201cbonus\u201d content as an incentive to preorder <em>MLB 10:  The Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>You would think that would be a win-win for everyone; Sony gets better preorder numbers and gamers get quick access to some content that would typically not be available until after hours and hours are consumed trying to unlock certain trophies.<\/p>\n<div class=\"addtoany_share_save_container addtoany_content_bottom\"><div class=\"a2a_kit a2a_kit_size_ addtoany_list a2a_target\" id=\"wpa2a_1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.addtoany.com\/share\" onclick=\"__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'https:\/\/www.addtoany.com\/share', '');\" class=\"a2a_dd addtoany_share_save\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.calvertgames.com\/cgblog\/wp-content\/plugins\/add-to-any\/share_save_171_16.png\" width=\"171\" height=\"16\" alt=\"Share\"\/><\/a>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\nif(wpa2a)wpa2a.script_load();\n\/\/--><\/script>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After skipping out on last year\u2019s MLB 09:\u00a0 The Show, I am considering a return to PS3 baseball.
